Dr. Fatai OyejobiEx-Officio
Dr. Oyejobi held progressive and highly responsible positions at Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, USA, a member of the Texas State University System, and retired as the Director of Network Services. While employed with Lamar University he was the Chairman of Beaumont Commission for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect for a four-year term. He was also the President and Proprietor of Oyotex Management, Inc, a non-profit organization that operated Beaumont Community Learning Center in Beaumont, TX. The BCLC was established to improve the lives of at-risk children from low-income families in Beaumont area. The Center played a pivotal role in feeding and clothing refugees from New Orleans, Louisiana, during Hurricane Katrina that flooded much of New Orleans in 2005. In Nigeria, Dr. Oyejobi worked as a Consultant with late Professor Olalere Ajayi, the first Executive Director of National Information Technology Development Agency in Abuja. He worked to develop the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Policy development for Nigeria. A co-author of Internet Technology in A Nutshell, he also presented some papers at ICT Conferences in Lagos and Abuja between 1999 and 2004. He was also a presenter at the School of Public Affairs (SOPA) Speaker Seminar Series at Texas Southern University in 2018. He is an ex-President and current member of the Association of Nigerians Abroad, an Internet-based organization that works towards the betterment of Nigerians at home and abroad. Dr. Oyejobi was among the IDU-USA entourage that met with the Oyo State Governor in Ibadan during the 2011 Ibadan Week to discuss issues affecting the City of Ibadan. Dr. Oyejobi was educated at Lamar University and the University of Houston Clear Lake. He earned his doctoral degree in Urban Planning and Environmental Policy, with an Outstanding Dissertation Award at Texas Southern University. He is currently a Hazardous Waste Management and Environmental Consultant.
